| According to recent statistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the number of cases of tumors continues to increase, amounting to more than (12,000) cases in 2007, compared to (7.000) cases in 2005. It occupies the proportion of women (51%) of people with these tumors. |
| Saw the field of medicine and surgery, gynecological cancer - during the last ten years - particularly tumors of the ovary, uterus, and cervix, as well as molar pregnancy... A stunning advance to keep pace with the size of the risk of these tumors and how to control them. |
| The interest was tumors of women in Saudi Arabia of the priorities of the University of the founder (King Abdul Aziz University), particularly when the unit was opened Medicine and Surgery Gynecologic Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital, King Abdul Aziz last year, which is the first in the universities in the Kingdom in addition to the formation of scientific group of gynecological cancer under the Saudi Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of King Abdul Aziz. |
| With this in mind we want to increase this interest and keep up with the development of research and the strategic plan developed by senior management at King Abdul Aziz led (Rector of the university professor. Dr. Osama Sadiq Tayeb) to establish the first chair scientific interest gynecological cancer in the Kingdom, This is a special chair for two main reasons: - |
| The first reason is that it is an educational chair - Awareness - therapeutic - my research. |
| The second reason: to support and Professor of the chair is the founding dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences at the University of my teacher and founding dean of the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Professor. Dr. / Abdullah Hussein become Muslim). |
| I ask Allah Almighty to help the team members Scientific Chair to what is good and that our work to in order to face the Holy and the pursuit of pleasure and the benefit of the Saudi society in particular and humanity in general, and rewarded, supportive chair all the best and make it in the balance of advantages and all seeking in this project. |
